FEBRE DE BURRO
Venues
It premiered on 23 September 2025 in Póvoa, Miranda do Douro.
FEBRE DE BURRO, performance by Rui Paixão, recaptures the itinerant spirit of street arts: travelling from village to village, transforming everyday life into a stage and giving voice to the auditory and visual memories gathered during several weeks of artistic residency in the Miranda do Douro region.
For the occasion, Rui Paixão and Dona Edite, with the collaboration of AEPGA, the creative trio set out across the territory of Miranda do Douro and in September 2025 gave birth to FEBRE DE BURRO, a performance that embarked on a tour of towns and villages in the municipality.
Here, the itinerant nature of street arts is revived, going from town to town with the mission of presenting a performance about the auditory and visual memory that prevailed after several weeks in residence in various locations in Miranda. Here, it recounts the experience of those who arrive from the city and encounter a new sound of silence, lost languages and the company of animals, triggering a new sense of origin and connection with nature, which had been lost.
FEBRE DE BURRO will continue throughout 2026, with an associated audiovisual project.
