Corpo Clandestino

Corpo Clandestino is a place where seven interpreters speak. The bodies of Ana Afonso, Andreia, Gaya, Joãozinho, Mafalda, Paulo, and Valter are vehicles of identity: they produce unforgettable images and tell us things we might not have expected to hear. 

Corpo Clandestino is an exercise in displacement and recomposition: what is not usually on stage is brought onto the stage; attention is adjusted; unique physical pieces are fitted together. On stage are performers whose non-normative bodies launch the viewer into the landscape of a dance troupe, configured in opposition to classicism and ideals. On stage, there is ultimately a single body, formed by seven truly unique pieces.
