Brisas do Barroso It is a collaborative creative project between the musician and composer Pedro Jóia and a group of pupils from the Dr Bento da Cruz School Group in Montalegre, comprising an artist-in-residence programme and a live performance of a musical show.

The first phase of Pedro Jóia’s project for the Rota do Sentir, designed for the Trás-os-Montes region, involved 34 students. During an initial residency (a meeting to select participants and define the project), the whole group took part in the experimental work and even put on a presentation at the Montalegre Book Fair in June 2025.

With the support of the local council and the Dr Bento da Cruz School Group, the creative work continued; following a further residency, and with the participation of eleven young students, it culminated in a live performance, featuring a special appearance by DJ Stereossauro.

Alongside Pedro Jóia, a musician, guitarist and composer with a long creative career, will be Sofia Araújo, Diana Lemos, Leonor Alves, Hugo Afonso, Matias Francisco, Ruben Faria, Martim Lameirão, Ari Machado, Bárbara Alturas, Conceição Sampaio and Afonso Pinto. Together, they will bring to life months of work, rehearsals and experimentation, fulfilling the aim of Rota do Sentir: to encourage young people to share in and enjoy culture, by involving them in the creative process.
