Premieres on April 2026.
CONDOMÍNIO is a series of post-(in)-disciplinary performances, nomadic and multilingual in nature, which aims to inquire into, debate and confront, through pedagogical and collaborative practices, geo-socio-cultural and historical issues present in border territories where minority and/or endangered practices, languages and dialects persist. The project aims to address and intensify the conceptual and interrelational connections between the construction of a local performance and the various agencies that cohabit and/or visit places where encounters take place, whether they be spaces for artistic programming, leisure, schools, social centres, youth associations, libraries, or other configurations of public (gardens, squares, streets, forests, wastelands) or private spaces. Inspired by the play ‘Vou A Tua Casa’ (I'm Coming to Your House), a theatrical trilogy for domestic spaces premiered in 2003 by Rogério Nuno Costa, the project presents itself as a forum for collective discussion around an expanded notion of ‘home’, experimenting with radical practices of hospitality and cohabitation, speculating on new poetics for dreaming, belonging and existing. Imagining and experimenting with a common (or commonly inhabited) space, where other forms of conviviality can be tested and protected, in an intensified dialogue with the local, the domestic and the cooperative.
For Rota do Sentir, the project will focus on the Mirandese language, particularly its presence in the school context (adolescents), in a semi-fictional pirate radio format where a post-linguistic manifesto is conspired and disseminated, based on translation and retroversion, subtitling and interpretation, imagination and invocation. The work aims to reveal the speeches/failures that emerge from the tense space that separates two (or more) languages, analysing misunderstanding as a promise of multiplicity. Language as exile and as condominium.
